The David Roche Foundation Guidebook
The David Roche Foundation Guidebook, by now Museum Director Robert Reason, provides an in-depth look at the story of David Roche, as well as the history of the David Roche Collection and Fermoy House. Treatments of each room and its style and theme are accompanied by beautiful photographs of the rooms themselves and many of the wonderful items that make up the Collection. There are also first-hand accounts of Fermoy Kennels and David’s beloved dogs. The foreword by late inaugural TDRF Museum Director, Martyn Cook, provides a touching picture of the man behind the Foundation.
Empires & Splendour: At Home with David Roche
Empires & Splendour: At Home with David Roche is perfect for those who want to get more detail about specific items in the Collection. This coffee table sized hardcover consists of over 300 pages of stunning photographs and comprehensive discussions of the highlights of The David Roche Collection by international experts and The David Roche Foundation curatorial team, as well as acquisition comments by Martyn Cook, who was with David for many of his purchases. Read fascinating insights into the best of David’s porcelain, paintings, Staffordshire, furniture and everything in between while admiring the beauty, depth and quality of what is undoubtedly one of the finest collections of European decorative arts in a private collection in Australia.
